Paper Flowers Are Forever By Jane A Morris Platinum Quality Author
Paper flowers are not costly and can be made for any occasion. These magnificent works of art can last you a lifetime. It wasn't long ago I heard a story from a friend about how her mother a few months earlier had been going through an old chest that contained her wedding memories and she found her wedding bouquet it was a little faded and a little bit crushed but it was still was as pretty as when she had gotten married 63 years earlier. To make a long story short the flowers were made of paper.
Making paper flowers are simple to make and can be as beautiful as the ones Mother Nature has provided if not prettier because you can add glitter and shine to your paper flowers. If you want them to look more like the real thing then don't make the petals or leaves perfect every time because you want them to look unique each time as the ones in nature are not the same shape on every flower. Making your own paper flowers can be a great way to substitute for the natural expensive flower bouquets, especially since the real ones don't last more than about a week and your creations can last forever and when you do get tired of them you can recycle them which makes them eco-friendly too.
If you enjoy doing crafts, making paper flowers is only limited by your imagination. They can be made into wedding decorations, prom corsages and decorations, home décor centerpieces, package decorations, and party decorations etc. You can also add scent to your paper flowers to make a room smell good, all you need to do is add a drop of oil fragrance to a flower petal. These are only a few ways to use your artistic talent for making paper flowers.
I also found an article on the Internet that says Chanel used paper flowers for headpieces for their models, adorned some of their garments, and also as decorations for the stairway going to the catwalk for their models. This is a very interesting fact if designers are using paper flowers in their décor then this tells me that this craft is really making a come back this year and maybe for some years to come.
You can make paper flowers with crepe paper, tissue paper, mulberry paper that is also eco friendly because it is made from the bark of the mulberry tree and does not harm the trees because it is stripped from the trees and the bark will grow back, and there are also other types of paper that you can use. They can be any color that you want them to be. You can scent them with different scents or embellish them with a little paint or markers or you can add different types of jewels by gluing them on to the flowers. There are many types of flowers that can be made in all different sizes and styles.
If you need thicker crepe paper or paper that is one color on one side and another color on the other side then you want to use what is called duplex paper but it may be hard to find. If you cannot find any I wrote an article on how to make duplex crepe paper and you can find the article on E-zine articles.
This may be a good year to learn how to make paper flowers they do not cost nearly as much as the real thing to decorate with and they will last a lot longer and can be used over and over again if need be and it will be you that gets the praise for how good they look since you were the one that created them. You cam make a lot of paper flowers and have them blooming all over the place, just like the real thing in the springtime. Have fun and be creative!

Penggolongan Adenium
Penggolongan Adenium
a. Adenium obesum
b. Adenium multiflorum
c. Adenium oleifolium
d. Adenium somalense
e. Adenium swazicum
f. Adenium boehmianum
g. Adenium arabicum
h. Adenium socotranum
Adenium obesum (Desert Rose)
Adenium multiflorum (sabi star)

Funeral Flowers, II
Since funerals are a time of mourning, funeral flower arrangements are different from other kinds of flower arrangements. If tradition is to be followed, it is advised that only certain kinds of flower arrangements should be sent to the mourning family of the person who passed away.
There are different kinds of floral arrangements that are used in funerals. Sprays are used as displays over the casket. Crosses and wreaths are used as freestanding displays which are placed around the room where the casket is located. These kinds of flower arrangements are not usually used outside the funeral homes. It is not advisable to send these kinds of flower arrangements to private homes or residences.
There are different varieties of flower types that are used for any kind of funeral flower arrangement. The most common and traditionally used flowers are roses and carnations. These are a favorite because they set a much serious tone compared to other flowers.
Other flowers that are used or mixed with roses and carnations are lilies, gerbera daisies, delphiniums, and asters. These flowers are added to the traditional rose or carnation to make arrangements that help lighten the mood due to their diversity in size and color. These flowers add a more vibrant and positive ambience for a loved one’s passing.
To ensure an organized display of flower arrangements, it is recommended that funeral flower packages be ordered. These flower packages can include matching groups of sprays, pedestal arrangements, and casket lid arrangements. With a diverse selection of flowers available, it’s easy to find flowers that fit the mood of the funeral, which can be based on the personality and the life achievements of the one who has passed away.
Silk Flower Buying Guide
Silk flowers are available in many varieties to suit your needs and creative comfort level. Below are listed the most common forms in which artificial flowers can be purchased. Remember to take into consideration how you will be using the flowers to help you select the best form.
Types of Silk Flowers
BUSH: This is the most popular form of silk flowers. It is a group of flowers or greenery, either of the same variety of mixed, on individual stems that are joined at the bottom.
STEM: This is a single stem with a single bloom or a cluster of flowers (sometimes referred to as a spray) at the top.
PREMADE ARRANGEMENTS: A silk floral arrangement that has already been designed and completed. This includes basket arrangements, vase arrangements, wreaths, and swags.
Dollars and Sense
The economical advantages of silk florals may be obvious, but there are other consideration to get the most bloom for your buck. Depending upon your needs, consider these options before you buy. Always keep in mind your creative comfort level and what the flowers will be used for while considering your purchase.
PREMADE ARRANGEMENTS: A better choice for those inexperienced with silk florals. A floral designer can often create a design for far less than you can design one yourself. When comparing the options, remember to add in the cost of the vase, floral foam, floral tape, floral wire, glue guns, glue, and then the cost of the flowers themselves.
SILK BUSHES: Buying your silks in bush form is a very economical choice for those creating larger arrangements or those creating numerous arrangements. A great choice for weddings or parties. Keep in mind the flowers on silk bushes are usually smaller than those on individual stems. Designer Tip: Use silk bushes as your filler flowers around larger single stem silk flowers. It can cut the cost of an arrangement in half.
STEMS: The only way to go if you are wanting a contemporary single flower type arrangements. Why pay the money for extra flowers that you don't plan to use. The flowers on single stems tend to be larger and the stems are longer than the individual stems on silk bushes.
WEDDINGS: Cut down on the cost of the big event by using silks wherever possible. Match the colors of the wedding without spending more by buying white or cream flowers and purchasing silk floral paint from a craft store that comes in a variety of colors and shades. For your big day, any dollar saved gives you more to spend on the other things that will help make your dream wedding a reality.
Caring for Your Silks
One of the biggest complaints about silk flowers is their ability to gather dust. One solution is to purchase silk plant cleaner that you spray on the arrangement to wash away the dust. Another solution is to spray the silks with a fabric freshener that most people already have in their homes. A even less expensive alternative comes right out of your tap. Fill a spray bottle with water and spray the arrangement to wash away any dust. Very simple and inexpensive solutions.
Silk flowers have come a long way in recent years. Now it is sometimes impossible to tell a fresh flower from silk without touching or smelling it. Save yourself some money and don't dismiss silks without first looking at their economical value and the realism now available.

The Latest Wedding Flower Trends - Fresh Details For Bridal Bouquets By Elizabeth Reuth Platinum Quality Author
Just as the use of herbs and flowers in wedding bouquets has evolved, so have other details of the bridal bouquet. With fresh new designs for wedding flowers, bridal bouquets are becoming more and more unique and personalized. Wedding flowers are an excellent way to show your style and put some distinctive touches on your wedding ceremony and reception décor.
So, how do you make your bridal bouquet stand out? Read on and discover the most inventive new ideas for bridal bouquets and decide which fresh trend is right for your wedding flowers.
Here’s what’s new in bridal bouquets:
Monogramming
Monograms are becoming very popular for all aspects of weddings including wedding flowers. The monogram is generally of the groom’s last name, but can be a combination of the groom’s initials and the bride’s initials.
Monograms can be featured with wedding flowers in a few different ways. Bridal bouquets wrapped with ribbon and fabric can display monograms embroidered onto the fabric or sewn onto the fabric with beads or rhinestones. Bouquets can also feature monograms created with wire or piping. Monograms are a great way for brides and grooms to show pride in their family names and add personalization to their wedding flowers.
Different Textures
Today’s wedding flowers feature a variety of different blooms and other items that combine together to create exquisite textures that add a bit of the unexpected to bridal bouquets. The simplest way to add varying textures to your wedding flowers is to use several different types and shapes of flowers mixed together. Keeping in mind which wedding flowers are in season for your wedding, choose flowers that compliment each other with different textures. Flowers with varying textures like carnations and roses or spider mums and calla lilies lend contrast to bridal bouquets.
Another way to add a bit of texture to your wedding flowers is to use some non-traditional items in your bouquet. Shells, fruit, pinecones, feathers, leaves and berries are some unconventional items that you can use to add texture to your wedding flowers.
Breakaway Bouquets
A fresh and clever idea in wedding flowers, breakaway bouquets are gaining in popularity for creative brides. Made up of any type of flower, breakaway bouquets appear to be one large bouquet, but are actually composed of three separate bouquets. The bride will carry the large combined bouquet down the aisle and then she’ll break the three bouquets apart and they’ll be used as other wedding flowers.
Of the three bouquets, one is usually used for the bouquet toss, another is for the bride to keep and the third is for the bride to give as a special gift to a friend or loved one. Breakaway bouquets add a unique touch to traditional wedding flowers.
Bright Colors
Another sweeping trend for wedding flowers is the use of bright colors in bridal bouquets. Though many brides still stick with traditional shades of white and cream for their bouquets, the freshest wedding flowers feature vivid hues like bright orange, hot pink, electric purple and magenta.
Bright colors can easily be used in combination together to make up a bouquet with citrus hues or bold purples and pinks. These colors can also be used alone as a single color bouquet or can be part of a monochromatic bouquet mixed with more muted shades.
As the focal point of the wedding flowers, your bridal bouquet can set the theme for your wedding with the details that you select. Monogramming, funky textures, a creative breakaway option or a splash of vibrant color will give your bridal bouquet just what it needs to be a unique and special part of your wedding.

Rose Flower Shops
Rose shops provide freshly cut roses and rose bouquets at a high price during special occasions such as mother's day, Valentine's Day, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Most rose shops also have websites to generate more business. They accept online orders and generally offer overnight delivery service. Some rose shops offer same day delivery service to customers. Many flower shops have a tie-up with overseas flower shops to provide delivery services outside the country. They also have a strong local network to ensure prompt and reliable delivery. Customers can even send a personalized card attached to the bouquet of tastefully selected roses. They also have the option of selecting a specific style of rose arrangement from the product catalog.
Generally, roses that are sold in special boxes come with a set of instructions to help the customers preserve and arrange the flowers in a better way. Many rose gardeners sell their flowers through their own websites to save middleman charges. Long stemmed red roses are in huge demand on Valentine's Day.

Garden Designers Are So Much More Than Simple Gardeners
A gardener can be likened more to someone who understands plants and flowers well. They can recognise what a soil needs if it should be lacking something. They can tell how to resuscitate a fading lawn, and they probably will have a pretty good idea about how a garden should be laid out for simplicity and good looks, as well as what is best for the things that grow there.
Some gardeners may be much more expert than that, but by and large that's your average gardener. A designer can usually go much further. They take a more holistic view of the garden. The designer will start with a garden assessment taking every aspect of the garden into consideration before moving on to the planning stage. Nothing will be left out and everything will be given full attention.
A designer is someone who fully understands how a garden works. They will know the kind of plants that thrive best in the area they work in. They will also know which plants and flowers don't work well in your area. This alone can save you a lot of time and money.
The planning of a garden will involve using any key landscape elements to their best advantage. It will look at water drainage, overall soil condition, areas of light and shade, any micro-climates that need protecting or changing, and much more. Good garden designers will include everything possible in the assessment and planning stage to ensure the best possible outcome.
There are many skills a designer needs to have that a gardener usually does not need to have. A designer should be an attentive listener. When you hire one you want them to transform your garden into the dream concept that you have. If they can listen to what you want and temper it with what can happen, discussing the best way forward at every stage, then the designer is doing a good job.
The initial assessment of the garden will reveal what is possible and what is best for the garden. If your ideas can be realised without any problems, then the planning stage comes next. Here the designer has to put your ideas on to paper. A plan is drawn up, tweaked and modified, until you, the client, is happy with the result.
The designer then needs to know which kinds of plants and flowers you would like to have and where. This information may have to be changed a bit in accordance with what will work best for your garden. The designer will accommodate your desires as much as possible, but be led by any advice offered.
Buying skills is a good trait for a designer to have. This means that they know where to get the best deals and indeed, the best plants. This can save you a lot of money and ensure that the plants you end up with are the best in every way. This means that you will end up with the garden of your dreams, because garden designers are so much more than simple gardeners.

Sesame Street
Writing
The show's research team developed an annotated document, or "Writer's Notebook", which provided extended and developed definitions of the researchers' curriculum goals. The notebook assisted the writers and producers in translating their educational goals into televised material.[53] Suggestions in the notebook were free of references to specific characters and contexts on the show so that they could be implemented as openly and flexibly as possible.[17] The research team, in a series of meetings with the writers, also developed "a curriculum sheet" that described their goals and priorities for each season, which were divided into four categories: symbolic representation, cognitive processes, the physical environment, and the social environment.[54][note 5] After receiving the curriculum focus and goals for the season, the writers met to discuss ideas and story arcs for the characters, and when a script was completed, the show's research team analyzed it to ensure that the goals were met. Then each production department met to determine what each episode needed in terms of costumes, lights, and sets. The writers were present during the show's filming, which for the first twenty-four years of the show took place in Manhattan, and after 1992, at the Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, New York, to make last-minute revisions when necessary.[55][56]Sesame Street has tended to use many writers in its long history. As Dave Connell, one of Sesame Street's original producers, has stated, it was difficult to find adults who could identify a preschooler's interest level. Fifteen writers a year worked on the show's scripts, but very few lasted longer than one season. Norman Stiles, head writer in 1987, reported that most writers "burn out" after writing about a dozen scripts.[59]

Beginnings
Main article: History of Sesame Street
Up until the late 1960s, the use of television as an educational tool in the US was "unproven" and "a revolutionary concept".[2] In 1966, the Carnegie Institute hired Joan Ganz Cooney to study how the media could be used to help young children, especially those from low-income families, learn and prepare for school.[3][4] Cooney proposed using television's "most engaging traits",[5] including high production values, sophisticated writing, and quality film and animation, to reach the largest audience possible.[5] Cooney suggested creating a program that would spread prolearning values to both viewers and nonviewers (including their parents) that would affect them for many years after they stopped watching it.[6]

As a result of Cooney's initial proposal, the Carnegie Institute awarded her an $8 million grant to establish, in collaboration with Carnegie Institute vice-president Lloyd Morrisett, the Children’s Television Workshop (CTW) and create a new children's television program.[4][7] In 1968, millions more were invested by the Ford Foundation, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the US federal government. Cooney began to assemble a team of producers: Jon Stone, Dave Connell and Sam Gibbon.[4] That summer, five three-day curriculum planning seminars, led by Harvard University professor Gerald S. Lesser, were conducted in Boston.[4][8] The seminars marked the beginning of Jim Henson's involvement in Sesame Street,[4] and provided the show's producers and writers with a "crash course in child development, psychology, and preschool education".[9] The new show, called the "Preschool Educational Television Show" in promotional materials, was built around an inner-city street, a choice that was "unprecedented".[10] The producers and writers could not come up with a name they liked "up until the last moment".[11] They finally settled upon the name they least disliked: Sesame Street, although they initially feared that it would be too difficult for young children to pronounce.[11]
Two days before the premiere of Sesame Street, a thirty-minute preview entitled This Way to Sesame Street was shown on NBC. The show was financed by a $50,000 grant from Xerox. Written by Stone and produced by CTW publicist Bob Hatch, it was taped the day before it aired.[12] Newsday called the preview "a unique display of cooperation between commercial and noncommercial broadcasters".[12] Sesame Street premiered on PBS on November 10, 1969.[13] The new show was praised from the start. As writer Michael Davis states, "...It became the rare children's show stamped with parental approval".[14] The show reached only 67.6% of the nation, but earned a 3.3 Nielsen rating, or 1.9 million households.
[edit] Educational goals
As author Malcolm Gladwell has stated, "Sesame Street was built around a single, breakthrough insight: that if you can hold the attention of children, you can educate them".[15] Sesame Street was the first children's show that structured each episode and made "small but critical adjustments" to each segment to capture children's attention long enough to teach them something.[16]
Sesame Street uses a combination of animation, puppets, and live actors to stimulate young children's minds, improve their letter and word recognition, basic arithmetic, geometric forms, classification, simple problem solving, and socialization by showing children or people in their everyday lives. Since the show's inception, other instructional goals have been basic life skills, such as how to cross the street safely, proper hygiene, healthy eating habits, and social skills; in addition, real-world situations are taught, such as death, divorce, pregnancy and birth, adoption, and even all of the human emotions such as happiness, love, anger, and hatred. Also, recently, the Sesame Street Muppets discussed the late-2000s recession with their most recent prime-time special Families Stand Together: Feeling Secure in Tough Times.
Coordinating "the clever use of Muppets and animation" with educational curriculum required what the CTW researchers called "careful thought"[17] and influenced the show's structure. For example, they had to decide how to distribute the letters of the alphabet throughout each 130-episode season.[note 2]
Sesame Street
Sesame Street is an American educational children's television series and a pioneer of the contemporary educational television standard, combining both education and entertainment. Sesame Street is well known for its Muppets characters created by Jim Henson. It premiered on November 10, 1969, and is the longest running children's program on US television.[1] The show is produced in the United States by the non-profit organization Sesame Workshop, formerly known as the Children's Television Workshop (CTW), founded by Joan Ganz Cooney and Ralph Rogers.

Green Camping - How to Camp Responsibly
Camping can and should be done responsible, minimizing the effects on the environment. Here are a few tips to help.
Obviously planning is important. This includes where you'll be camping, what you'll be bringing, how it will be packaged, and more.
Although it's neat to make your own trail and pick your own campsite, and it is appropriate at some times and in some places, in general it's not. You want to reuse premade or already used campsites and use trails that are already there. Obviously you want to carry out anything you carry in. Cleaning supplies, if any, like soap, must be biodegradable. Many appropriate products are available.
Campfires are great, but do cause damage, including possible wildfires. Be careful. Make sure fires are allowable and in general use established fire spots. Make sure your campfire is totally out before leaving!
Leave wildlife wild. Do not feed any wildlife, including birds and small rodents and certainly not bears or anything else. Do not molest the wildlife. Chasing deer or other animals is simply not appropriate. Enjoy the wildlife - from a distance!
Also remember you may not be alone. You may be sharing the environment with other humans. They may not appreciate your group drinking Tequila until 4AM and hooting and hollering, although in some locations that may be OK.
Camping should have a low impact on the environment and with a little effort it is. It doesn't matter if you are a city slicker out for your first night, or a seasoned cowboy or cowgirl, camp responsibly.

Find a Flower Shop Or Garden Center Online
These days anyone wanting to buy roses or other flowers has - as with purchasing any other consumer good - the option of buying them on the Internet, from online garden center websites. Though not nearly as personal as in person shopping, buying on these sites is convenient, easy and can save a good deal of driving time. As with all online sites, the quality of these websites can vary considerably, in terms of how much information they will provide about their products and services, how helpful they are in answering questions and concerns of customers, what specifics they provide as to not only prices but also shipping, and how well they actually show what they sell.
Once you have found a shop or garden center that appeals to you, take the time to evaluate it and see if it is a quality site before making a purchase. There are a number of things that you should consider: Do they provide a lot of good tips and advice? Do they offer secure credit card processing? Are their shipping and handling charges reasonable? What are your shipping options? Where can they ship and how quickly can they deliver? Spending some time researching a number of sites will make for a much better shopping experience and enable you to get a quality product at the price you want to pay.

The Roots of Japanese Flower Arrangement
The Roots of Japanese
Flower Arrangement
By Ann Kameoka
and H. E. Davey
by Ann Kameoka
ado is one of the most ancient Japanese art forms. It is often called ikebana, literally "living flowers," and it is the classical art of floral arrangement that originated in Japan. (We favor the term "kado" in this online article, to emphasize that Japanese floral art is actually a Way of studying the essence of life itself and, as such, it is more than simply the skill of arranging living flowers.)
The fact that Japanese flower arrangement can, and should, function as a Way pointing toward realization is the primary focal point of this article. Many people may wonder how kado differs from Western floral art. Even more may question why you would even want to spend years studying the Japanese art of arranging flowers, when you could just grab a fist full of daisies and stuff 'em in a vase. Issues of culture and art aside, the primary difference between Western flower arrangement and kado is the Do ("Way") concept itself. This is not to say that Western-style floral art can't be practiced as a Do, or "Way of life." Indeed, any activity can become meditation and function as a Way. (In this sense, it isn't so much what you do, but how you do it that's meaningful.)
Still, kado has a long history as a Way, which is important and which will be covered in this article. Even more vital is the simple fact that from the moment it received the designation "kado," Japanese flower arrangement has directly aimed at comprehension of the Way (of the Universe). And while some critics may say kado has missed this target as often as it has hit it, this clear-cut statement of purpose, as well as the purpose itself, is what separates kado from the Western version of arranging flowers. In short, Western flower arranging does not have a history as a Way, and such a subject is infrequently a topic of discussion in the West. (Yet it is a topic of fascination for many people outside of Japan; and in fact, quite a few Japanese and American teachers of various Do forms have surmised that it is often more common for Westerners to be devoted to the Do concept than it is for their Asian counterparts.)
Kado is said to have been initially born in China, where it became popular in connection with the decoration of Buddhist temples. When Buddhism came to Japan many centuries ago, flower arrangement came with it. Over time it evolved to become a Japanese spiritual path. In this sense, it is similar to other Japanese arts such as budo (the martial Way) and shodo (the Way of calligraphy) which have also evolved to become methods of personal growth. Today, however, it is no longer the exclusive specialty of the priesthood, and it is enjoyed by vast numbers of people throughout the world.
Starting an Arts & Crafts Business
Starting an Arts & Crafts Business
Think all you need to know is how to knit or paint? Not quite. If you want to start a serious crafts business, you'll have to focus on the business and the craft. But such is life that nothing is as easy as it seems. You may have the skills to create wonderful handiwork, but starting a successful crafts business calls for much more than that. "[There's] a separation [between] those who are crafting for fun and extra money and those who start out with the idea, 'I intend to make money from this, so I'm going to do it right,'" says Barbara Brabec, a homebased business expert and author of Make It Profitable! "And I've always said in all my books that the people who succeed are those who have a financial reason to do so."
So here's your first step: Decide why you're really starting this business. "If you're doing it for love or extra money, that's fine--you can have a lot of fun. You can make enough to keep yourself in craft supplies for the rest of your life, but you're never gonna bring home the groceries," says Brabec. "If you're in it because you actually need to supplement your family income, then you need to get serious."
flower arrangements
And what does getting serious entail? Read on to find out how to get started.
Start reading. You don't necessarily need an MBA to succeed in a crafts business, but knowing how to wield a mean needle isn't enough. "It's not necessary to have a business background, but if you don't have one, [it is] necessary to read up," says Susan Brandt of the Hobby Industry Association, which counts crafts manufacturers, publishers, distributors and retailers among its members.
Brandt suggests visiting your library to find business magazines and texts as well as checking out community resources like adult school classes. "If you can visit some large gift centers or markets, try to find people who'd be willing to talk to you from noncompetitive areas," adds Brandt. "There are a lot of very generous people who remember that somebody helped them when they started."
10 Steps to Startup
- Find out about zoning regulations, licenses and permits.

- Call your telephone company.
- Open a checking account for your business.
- Obtain a retailer's occupation tax registration number.

White Wedding Flowers
By Laura Firenze
Certainly there is no wedding flower more popular than the white rose. They are available all year round, in several shapes and sizes, and are just the epitome of bridal elegance. Fluffy white garden roses are magnificent flowing over the edges of tall garden urns at the reception or on the altar. A classic round white rose nosegay is a lovely accent for brides who love traditional white silk bridal gowns worn with sets of pearl bridal jewelry. And sprays of miniature roses are a wonderful addition to bouquets featuring larger blossoms.
Orchids are another favorite bridal flower. These exotic beauties are the height of elegance and sophisticated style. Delicate in appearance, orchids are actually very hardy flowers, making them as versatile as they are stunning. Try a soft and fluttery bouquet of butterfly orchids mixed with ruffly sweetpeas, or go for all out drama with a massive waterfall bouquet of impressive phalaenopsis orchids. Orchids are also extremely popular for submerged flower centerpieces.
If clean and classic is your taste, you will adore a bouquet of white tulips. A large bunch of white tulips handtied with a wide satin ribbon is as simple as a bouquet can get, yet it is also incredibly beautiful. For centerpieces, place large bunches of white tulips in blue and white Chinoiserie patterned vases. They are the perfect addition to a spring time wedding, and will look as good in your wedding photos twenty years from now as they do in person.
When large showy blooms are your thing, look into white lilies for your wedding. These flowers are quite large, which means that a small number of lilies can make a big impact. They are wonderful for tropical theme weddings, and work very well to add dimension and flair to all white centerpieces featuring mixed flowers. There are a couple of things that one should know when considering white lilies for wedding flowers. Certain varieties have a very strong fragrance that can be overpowering, so be sure to discuss the scent of the flowers that interest you with your florist. Lilies also have stamen with an orange pollen that can get all over everything; a good florist will always strip this part out of the flower before crafting lilies into arrangements, but it is wise to give the florist explicit instructions about it just to be safe.
There are numerous other white flowers that are wonderful for weddings. Preppy brides will find that bunches of hydrangeas are the perfect accent to their classic white gowns and pearl bridal jewelry sets. Spring brides will adore the old fashioned charm of tiny lily-of-the-valley flowers. And then there are white ranunculus, lisianthius, gardenias, daisies, and much much more. Whatever your style, you will be able to find a white flower that is the perfect decoration for your wedding.
